I’ve found that Tricky struggles to move on our carpet – with a medium pile. He moves but goes about half of the speed he does on a hard floor and drags either to the left or right depending on the direction of the pile.
Although not a total fix, doubling up the drive wheels seems
to improve movement.

Another thing I might try is to rebuild a Tricky style base,
with the drive wheels at the front. Any thoughts on whether this will work or
not?
